Who is leading the search?
The Board of Trustees is responsible for selecting and hiring the Princeton Montessori School Head and the CEO of the Princeton Center for Teacher Education (PCTE). To facilitate the search process, the Board of Trustees has engaged Patricia Hlafter, Trustee Emeritus to lead a Search Committee who will recommend a candidate to the Board of Trustees.
What is the role of the Search Committee?
The Search Committee gathers and coordinates input from the School and PCTE’s varied constituencies – both groups and individuals. Members of the committee review applicants and communicate with constituencies for each candidate. They will conduct interviews with the semifinalists and finalists. At the end of the process, the Search Committee will recommend a candidate to be confirmed by the Board of Trustees.
Who is on the Search Committee?
Patricia Hlafter, Trustee Emeritus, is the Chair of the Search Committee and Lee Gardner, Trustee is the designated representative of the Board. Other committee members include but are not limited to Montessori teachers, the PCTE Director, the Business Administrator and Administrative liaisons. Marsha Stencel will assist in the processes to support the work of the Chair.
How can I participate in the search process? How can I contribute?
All members of the School and PCTE community are encouraged to share their thoughts with the Search Committee via email at Search@pmonts.org. The Princeton Montessori School and PCTE constituencies are invited to complete an online questionnaire to share their insights about the selection of the next School and PCTE leader.
What is the role of the faculty, staff and administration?
The faculty and administration will provide feedback and commentary during the information gathering stage and meeting finalist candidates.
What is role of current and alumni parents?
Throughout the search process, parents are encouraged to share their thoughts with the Search Committee via email at email@example.com. Parents can also complete an online questionnaire to share their thoughts and opinions.
How will the transition of the new HOS/CEO occur?
Upon confirmation of the candidate, a Leadership Transition Committee comprised of Trustees, administrators, faculty and Parent Ambassadors will facilitate the integration of the new Head of School into the Princeton Montessori Society community. Marsha Stencel will support this transition as needed via request of the Trustees.
