February 2014 – The Princeton Montessori Society Board of Trustees has unanimously decided to appoint Michelle Morrison as the next Head of School (HOS) and CEO of the Princeton Center for Teacher Education (PCTE). Following a carefully structured Search process that drew highly qualified candidates from around the country, it is deeply gratifying that the Search resulted in the selection of a stand-out leader who developed and thrived from within our own community of superb educators and teacher trainers.
Michelle brings a passion for the Montessori pedagogy, a gifted ability as a Montessori teacher, and a proven record as an esteemed and committed leader within the School to her new responsibilities as HOS and CEO of PCTE. In her more than 20 years at Princeton Montessori, Michelle has steadily progressed in her leadership experiences and capabilities both within the School and as a highly regarded teacher trainer during the summers at Washington Montessori School in New Preston, CT.
Marsha Stencel, current Head of Princeton Montessori School and CEO of PCTE, announced her retirement effective August 2014. During her 37 years of exceptional leadership, she has demonstrated unwavering passion, wisdom, and professionalism in leading the Princeton Montessori School and the Princeton Center for Teacher Education to both national and international recognition as two of the finest and most dynamic Montessori institutions for the education of children and teachers.
The Trustees are confident that this change of leadership will bring added energy and vitality to our nationally and internationally renowned Princeton Montessori School and Princeton Center for Teacher Education. Michelle looks forward to beginning a dialogue with parents and teachers that ensures a positive transition in the coming year.
