Down by the Sea - Brookdale's Ocean Institute

Lower Elementary takes a field trip

Students Explore Sandy Hook and the National Park

LE students visited Brookdale’s Ocean Institute in Highlands, NJ, to explore Sandy Hook and the surrounding national park. The students had the opportunity to use seining nets to collect a variety of coastal creatures from the bay, observe them, and then safely return them to their home. Students where able to make real-world connections to the Biology curriculum, while discovering the geological and environmental treasure that exists in their backyard.
