Parent Ambassador Community Service Program
The Parent Ambassadors have developed this project for our community to share the value of helping others in need. This year there will be five events hosted by the Parent Ambassadors:
September - Food Drive for Crisis Ministry
December - Holiday Giving Line and Toys for Tots
February - Valentine’s Day of Community Service
May - Personal Products Drive for Crisis Ministry
Summer 2013 - School Supplies for School Packs for Homefront

September – Food Drive for Crisis Ministry
Parent Coordinator: Colleen Aker
All parents are requested to participate in a food drive for the Crisis Ministry either by bringing a requested food item or $10 monetary donation to the Ice Cream Social.
Items requested by Crisis Ministry to be donated by Program:
Infant/Toddler: Shelf stable milk; Small or medium boxed cold cereal
Primary: Canned Protein, such as tuna, salmon, etc.
Junior I: Canned Fruits and/or vegetables
Junior II: Dry rice or dried beans
Middle School: Boxed pasta or boxed macaroni and cheese
December – Holiday Giving

Toys for Tots: Families are invited to donate an unwrapped gift to a child of the same age as your child. We encourage all families to participate and to consider donating educational gifts such as art supplies, board games and creative toys. The gifts will be collected in the school’s main foyer and picked up by local Marines before winter break.
Holiday Giving Line for Martin House: Garland is hung in the foyers of the school to form The Giving Line. We invite you and your child to purchase a pair of mittens or a hat to hang on the line. Toddler parents come in and hang up gloves and mittens on the line with their children; Primary and Elementary children will hang them up with their classes. The items are delivered to Martin House as our gift to children in need.
February – Valentine’s Day of Community Service for the Entire Princeton Montessori Community

To celebrate Valentine’s Day this year, the Parent Ambassadors and the Community Service Committee are organizing The First Annual School-Wide Food Drive for Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK). Our entire community will contribute to putting together 300 “Dinner Bags” to be donated. Toddler and Primary students will decorate lunch bags and the Elementary and Middle School students will assist with assembling and packing the Bags. We are asking participation from all of our families to make this school-wide event a success.
Families in each program are asked to donate the following items no later than Feb. 4. Collection bins will be located at the entrance of the Toddler/Infant wing and the front reception entrance.
Infant/Toddler: Utensil sets with napkins packaged together (10-12 sets per family)
Primary: Entrée such as Bumblebee or Starkist Tuna Salad or Chicken Salad with crackers, microwaveable or Canned Chef Boyardee Ravioli (8-10 entrees per family)
Junior I: Juice Boxes (12-15 boxes per family)
Junior II: Individual portion of canned fruit or fruit cup (15-20 servings per family)
Middle School: Individual pudding or dessert (NON REFRIGERATED KIND) (15-20 servings per family)
Parent Volunteers are needed to help to:
Count and manage food items during the week of 2/4; Coordinate decoration of lunch bags by Toddler/Primary students on (date); Set up room where the lunch bags will be assembled on 2/13; Attend the lunch bag assembly “event” 2/14 12:30 – 2:30 in Crescendo; and, Organize delivery to TASK on Thursday 2/14 between 3- 5pm

May – Personal Products Drive for Crisis Ministry

Personal Products will be collected for donation to Crisis Ministry. There will be bins in the foyers in early May. Parents encouraged to bring items with them on Mothers Day. Items will be picked up by Crisis Ministry on May 17.
Personal Products requested by Crisis Ministry to be donated by program:
Infant/Toddler: Toothbrushes and toothpaste
Primary: Shampoo and conditioners
Junior I: Soaps and lotions
Junior II: Shaving cream
Middle School: Deodorants
