Enrichment Activities

Making the most of the day

Enrichment Activities

Princeton Montessori School offers many enriching activities in the course of the school day.  These include regular programs such as music, fitness, art, performing arts, mindfulness, ecology, and many other offerings.

Tune in Time

imgresTrained and experienced yoga, meditation, and mindfulness teacher, Erin Galbraith, leads a weekly Monday session in each program, Primary aged through Middle School, teaching self-soothing, de-stressing, healthy practices one can use in all areas of life.  This development of an inner awareness and regulation is a life skill all can benefit from and enjoy.

Eco Binding

rtjbe6ptrOur resident Ecology teacher, Eliza Hammer, has developed and offers a unique class for Upper School children that engages their intellect and bodies in the care and study of the earth, beginning with the botany and animal life on our very own school grounds.  With a school vegetable garden, chickens, woods, and a Japanese meditation garden, Eliza makes use of an outdoor classroom to model and teach a way of life and learning.

After-School Clubs

Registration for clubs is open to all students in the Elementary and Middle School programs. Clubs meet weekly from 2:45-4:00 PM (unless otherwise noted) beginning in late September and continuing through early May. The offerings vary from year to year, but may include ceramics, chess, computer coding, rock band, fitness and cardio, French, cooking, gardening, sewing, sign language, photography and media, book club and other areas of interest.

Music Lessons

In addition to a robust music curriculum within each program, Princeton Montessori School offers weekly lessons in violin, piano, guitar and woodwinds (saxophone, clarinet, recorder, and flute) for either 30, 45 or 60-minute sessions throughout the year.

Auxiliary Programs

The auxiliary programs below are hosted by partner organizations and the lessons are held on site at Princeton Montessori School.

Firefly Tennis Program

The Firefly Tennis Program provides high-quality, personalized tennis experiences for children ages 3-8 years that also teaches social skills. They believe in enabling children to play to learn, rather than just learn to play. All classes are 45 minutes long and are held at Princeton Montessori School.
