On the first Friday of every month, we are having Virtual School Spirit Days – a school-wide Zoom led by Mr. Mitnick and Mrs. VonWachenfeldt! Friday, February 5th was the kick-off and all classes gathered via Zoom for some community fun!
The event started with a video of Jennifer Lopez performing ‘This Land Is Your Land’. Mr. Mitnick explained that this song, written by Woody Guthrie, is one of the most famous American folk songs. Following the video, Middle School student, Sawyer, read an excerpt from Amanda Gorman’s moving poem, “The Hill We Climb”. Mrs. VonWachenfeldt then led a community-building trivia game focusing on the words of our school song. Each program had a question to answer. The Zoom ended with a Covid-style version of the school song! It was a fun way to virtually get together for a school-wide event!
