Environmental and Sustainability Studies
This MS Environmental and Sustainability Studies program continues to work to make persevered land accessible as a learning center. Working with the wonderful Dr. Patricia Shanley, MS students have learned a good deal about the negative impacts of key invasive species, how to identify them, and how to get rid of them. Recently they have been honing their skills on the small copse at the front of the school, which is currently overrun with multiflora rose, Japanese Honeysuckle, and other invasive species. The students channeled their passion into cleaning out this area, which is also home to several Black Lotus trees, which bloom in the spring. If the students carry on this good work, we will have our beautiful frontage back again.
