School Spirit Days are joyous celebrations of our school community
Primary through Middle School children gathered together to celebrate School Spirit Day and Earth Day! Mrs. VonWachenfeldt and Mr. Mitnick hosted the event. This year our Spirit Days are all about “Ripples”, and what we mean when we talk about a “ripple effect”. How can we make a difference and create ripples to be a positive force/influence on those around us through words, deeds, actions, and ideas?
Everyone watched a video put together by the Princeton Montessori Eco Team, a group of Middle School students, supported by Mr. Juleff and other staff. The Eco Team’s purpose is to develop ideas and solutions in order to make Princeton Montessori more sustainable and environmentally friendly. The Eco team issued a “Zero Waste Challenge” for April 21st.
Next, Mrs. Von read the book, The Curious Garden, by Peter Brown. It is the story of one boy’s quest for a greener world… one garden at a time. After the story, Mrs. Cotton, Mrs. VonWachenfeldt, and piano teacher Ms. Miller performed a song called “The Curious Garden” while the 3rd Year Primary students did the hand motions. The students made their own paper garden with the upcycled flowers they created.
Rock Band closed out Spirit Day with a performance of “Big Yellow Taxi”
