Mercer Science and Engineering Fair (MSEF) 2024 Awards
Eight students participated in this year’s Mercer Science and Engineering Fair (MSEF). Congratulations to the following students for their efforts and MSEF awards:
Adhya Abi: Thermo Fisher Junior Innovators Challenge Award – 1st Place Superior achievement
Project title: Measuring which product works best to keep skin Moist
As a Thermo Fisher Junior Innovators Challenge nominee, Adhya has been invited to compete in the top middle school science and engineering research competition, representing the top 10% of science fair participants nationwide.
Anamitra Abi: Outstanding Achievement – Best use of photography
Project Title: How dogs (both AI-generated and real) can help train AI models to spot deepfakes
Beatrice Clarke: Outstanding Achievement
Project Title: How does the level of solutes (salt) in water affect plant growth over twenty-five days
Jia Mohan: Honorable Mention
Project Title: Comparison of heat storage in water bottle brands
Vishnu Guha: Honorable Mention
Project Title: The effect of temperature on the bounce of a tennis ball
Maya Rafalovsky, Finn Ulle, and Stella Wimmers also participated in the Science and Engineering Fair. Unfortunately, as the interviews were during spring break, they could not be part of the award nomination process.
