The Upper Elementary students received certificates at the annual “Character Awards” ceremony. The 3rd-5th grade students studied character traits and virtues throughout the year in their weekly social and emotional growth class, “Gifts and Challenges.” They worked on attributes such as patience, courtesy, gratitude, perseverance, responsibility, and leadership. Each student chose a character trait to reflect on for the year and wrote an essay on the topic. The ceremony is a great chance for the students to reflect on their growth!
The students performed “Roots We Share”, before getting into smaller break-out groups and reading their essays. After the ceremony, the students were treated to a special lunch.
