The Elementary and Middle School students were treated to a performance by the BRAVO! Brass Ensemble. BRAVO! is the outreach part of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra. Since 1995, PSO BRAVO! educational programs have introduced thousands of school children to the symphony orchestra through live performances. Here the brass musicians used conch shells and a didgeridoo to present a very entertaining history of the origin of brass instruments, showed how the parts of the trumpet, trombone, French horn and tuba work, and demonstrated both the individual and ensemble sound of the instruments with a variety of music (including the theme from “Pirates of the Caribbean”).
