Primary through 6th grade students gathered together to celebrate our last School Spirit Day of the year. School Spirit Days are joyous celebrations which spiral our awareness from self to our community, to our school, and ultimately connect us to the wondrous earth which we all inhabit. This year’s theme was, The Four Elements : WATER, EARTH, FIRE, and AIR.

Water is the giver of life . The oceans are where life began on our earth.
We once thought the stars were Gods.
We once thought that the Sun orbited around the earth.
We once thought that the world was flat.
We once thought that we could use the oceans as a place to put our garbage with no repercussions.
We have created troubled waters and are learning new ways to deal with pollution and the environment.

Mrs. Stolzer and Mrs. VonWachenfeldt then sang “Bridge Over Troubled Water” accompanied by Mr. Mitnick on the piano. Our school is filled with wonderful talent.
Acknowledging recent Earth Day events, and ways to make a difference, we sited ways to keep plastics out of the oceans by NOT using single use straws, plastic cups, and shopping bags. This led easily into our school songs – “Leading the Way” and “Princeton Montessori School”.

Finally, we gave Mr. Mitnick a big send off and wished him safe travels as he brings his gift of music to China next week!
