PMonts Middle School student, Jia, was recently recognized for her dedication and sportsmanship. At the Council Rock Aquatics Club’s End of Season Banquet, Jia received the prestigious Coaches Award. This honor recognizes her consistent contributions, dominance in the pool, and the exceptional character she brings to the team.
The Coaches Award citation says: “This award recognizes character as much as athletic ability. Jia consistently demonstrated the qualities of a true team player, offering encouragement and support even in challenging situations. Her dedication to practice was notable, consistently arriving early and attending almost every single practice and swim meet regardless of sub-zero temperatures and academic commitments.”
Coach Kathleen Shultz, in presenting the award, emphasized Jia’s teachable spirit and her willingness to embrace any role for the team’s benefit. “Her quiet determination,” Coach Shultz noted, “vigorous support for her teammates, and relentless pursuit of self-improvement set an example for the entire team. She is committed to personal growth as an athlete.”
For Jia, this award is a well-deserved acknowledgment of her individual commitment and her unwavering belief in the power of teamwork. Her success is intertwined with the team’s undefeated season, a testament to her understanding that collective achievement amplifies individual accomplishment.
