The Upper Elementary students all received certificates at the annual “Character Awards” ceremony. The 3rd-5th grade students studied character traits and virtues throughout the year in their weekly social and emotional growth class, “Gifts and Challenges.” They worked on topics such as patience, courtesy, gratitude, perseverance, responsibility, and leadership. Each student chose a character trait to reflect on for the year and wrote an essay on the topic. The ceremony is a great chance for the students to reflect on their growth and practice their public speaking skills!
The third-year students read their essays on leadership to the audience and gave personal acknowledgments to the younger students. After the ceremony, the students were treated to a special lunch.
