The Lower Elementary students had a fun opportunity to apply their math skills in a hands-on way. They began by hand-drawing objects they wanted to ‘sell’ at their stores. Each object was assigned a price. After everything was ready, the students shopped at each other’s stores and practiced finding the value of mixed coins and giving change. It was a fun activity to reinforce the math concepts they have been learning in class. Through this type of role-play, our students practice important social skills, learn to take turns, and further develop their language skills.
