Design: Tools in Your Back Pocket

Each year, the middle school students do a unit called, “Tools in your Back Pocket,” designed to introduce a technical skill that the students can explore and incorporate in future projects.

This year’s unit was on web design. Through a platform courtesy of the Raspberry Pi Foundation, and with support from Mr Silva, the students were introduced to CCS and HTML. They manipulated coding to allow them to create a list, incorporate images, and create a simple animation. Over winter break and through mid-January, the students were assigned to develop a web page for prospective students interested in joining the Middle School program. Enjoy some examples of their work.
