Exploring the Engineering Principles of Simple Machines
The Middle School students are having fun creating carnival games in design class! Using Sphero Blueprint kits, the students are exploring the engineering principles of simple machines: axles, levers, incline planes, gears, and screws.
So far students have explored Spin the Wheel, High Striker, and Ski Ball. They are building models of these carnival attractions and exploring probability and simple business strategies to ensure return customers and financial success. Over the next few weeks, they will explore the Tea Cup Ride, a Roller Coaster, and the Pirate Ship.
