Princeton Montessori School faculty and staff started the new year off in class!
During the Inservice day, January 2, they attended a workshop:
–
The Montessori-Based Multi-Tiered System of Support:
–
A school wide system for supporting students with challenges in behavior and learning
–
Presented by Christine Lowry
The format was a combination of lecture, discussion, and small group activities. Teachers learned about a multi-tiered system with a Montessori approach for supporting challenges in the classroom.
- Tier One- Planning an environment to address common challenges
- Tier Two- Social Skills, Management, Accommodations, Modifications, Specific supports
- Tier Three- Functional Behavior Assessment; Positive Behavior Support Plan
It was a great way for the teachers to come together and be inspired in the new year!
