The Elementary extended calendar children created and performed an original play to the delight of the Primary children. The play was based on the book The Owl in the Shower, and the students worked together to write the script, and design the props and set. The shower curtain was created by laminated fall leaves that the students had collected on their nature walk the day before.

Imaginative play is an important part of the Montessori philosophy and having older students guide the younger children enables the teachers to stand aside and let the children create something of their own design.
