Faculty Goes to Class

By January 2, 2019Uncategorized

Princeton Montessori School faculty and staff started the new year off in class!

During the Inservice day, January 2, they attended a workshop:

The Montessori-Based Multi-Tiered System of Support:

A school wide system for supporting students with challenges in behavior and learning

Presented by Christine Lowry

The format was a combination of lecture, discussion, and small group activities. Teachers learned about a multi-tiered system with a Montessori approach for supporting challenges in the classroom.

  1. Tier One- Planning an environment to address common challenges
  2. Tier Two- Social Skills, Management, Accommodations, Modifications, Specific supports
  3. Tier Three- Functional Behavior Assessment; Positive Behavior Support Plan

It was a great way for the teachers to come together and be inspired in the new year!

Christine Lowry, M.Ed., is the principal and senior consultant at Montessori NOW, a source of policy and advocacy information, resource and consultation for the Montessori community.
