Many classrooms had presentations about Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, which is celebrated every autumn in the northern hemisphere. The festival celebrates the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. Clay lamps, called diyas, are lit to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness.Toddler students enjoyed amazing circle times led by their teachers, who shared all about Diwali with the children.
Primary children listened to books about Diwali and made their own diyas.
