Snow & Ice Exploration

By January 21, 2025Elementary, Middle School

Gery Juleff, sustainability manager and Ecology Teacher

Rain or shine, or snow, (but not when it is 10 below!) Princeton Montessori Elementary students go out into the woods for Ecology.  They take particular pleasure in ice, sliding about on it, breaking it up, seeing what’s inside, carrying it around, and generally being fascinated by it.  Why not? Ice is pretty cool (forgive the pun!) when you think about it!  Long may their curiosity last.’

Our goals are based on the Montessori philosophy. Dr. Montessori herself said, “There must be provision for the child to have contact with Nature, to understand and appreciate the order, the harmony and the beauty in Nature …. so the child may better understand and participate in the marvelous things which civilization creates.”
