Last Monday, two public speeches were delivered by Ohm and Aadil. The topic Ohm chose was, “Are plastics all that bad?” The topic Aadil chose was about the ship called RMS Olympic. On Tuesday, there were two events to talk about. The first one was our first Parent Visit Day of the year, where parents can sign up to come into the classroom from 8:30 to 9:30 am. The second exciting event was the start of our new book club. The new books we are reading are “Aru Shah and the End of Time”, “The One and Only Ivan”, and “Leaving Langston Finding Lymon”.

On Wednesday, we had art and fitness. In the afternoon, Third Grade explored definitions and diagrams of cell organelles and the organization of Life, from atoms and molecules to organisms and ecosystems.

Last week, Fourth graders applied their knowledge to study the climate of our country. They also worked on experiments for wind currents and the work of air.Throughout the week, Fifth Grade studied Isaac Newton’s three laws of motion in Physical Science. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Fifth graders learned and did experiments on forces that act upon an object at rest, a sliding object, a floating object, a hanging object, and a falling object. One of these experiments included Mrs. Lobo teaching us how to do a Taekwondo punch and feel the reaction force. We also got to hold the target that we used to punch and watch how strong her punches were.On Thursday, the Fourth and Fifth Grade had a Spanish test. Lylaa was interviewed about her birthday. She said she was super excited about her “Life in a Bag” on Friday. Her birthday was on November 4th, which was also voting day.  She said her favorite gifts she received at her birthday party were all the art supplies she got! She is officially 11.  She had a chocolate cake, and the theme of her birthday was a slime party. On Thursday, we had our second Fall Visit Day, just like on Tuesday.

On Friday, we had a class meeting and Lylaa’s Life in a Bag, where she shared five items from home that feel special to her. This was all the fun we had in just one week.
