Toddler students enjoyed stories and presentations during circle time and made colorful rangoli designs.

Primary children listened to books about Diwali and made colorful rangoli designs and Diyas. Parents visited the classroom and shared about their families’ Diwali traditions and celebrations.

Elementary students had a special presentation on Diwali.
Toddler teacher, Ms. Bemby, shared this overview of the significance of Diwali:
Diwali is a joyful time that symbolizes the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. To celebrate, homes are cleaned and decorated with oil lamps (Diyas), candles, and vibrant rangoli designs. (You may see many neighborhood homes decorated with lights outside!) Families come together to perform prayers, especially to the Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity. The air is filled with the sound of fireworks, the aroma of festive foods, and the warmth of love and togetherness. People wear new clothes, exchange gifts and sweets, and take this time to reflect, renew, and rejoice. Diwali is not just a festival – it’s a celebration of hope, positivity, and the inner light that guides us through life’s challenges.
