We spotlight each of our Eighth graders and ask them to reflect on their Middle School experiences and share some of the highlights and what they are most proud of.
Meet Vishnu Guha
What is one of your favorite highlights from the middle school program?
Over the past three years at PMonts, I’ve had so many memorable experiences, including the ski trips, MMUN, and many others. However, if I had to pick just one highlight to commemorate my PMonts experience, it would be the Spain trip I just took. It truly encapsulated the skills I’ve developed in the PMonts program by providing an opportunity to practice my independence, adaptability to new environments, and risk-taking, skills I consider the three most important things I’ve learned here. Additionally, it was one of the most fun trips of my life, as I had an amazing time bonding with my classmates and sightseeing some of Spain’s most beautiful landmarks. For all these reasons, the Spain trip stands as the biggest highlight of my PMONTS experience.
What skill(s) did you develop thanks to your Montessori/IB education that are you most proud of?
There are many skills I’ve developed at PMonts that I’m proud of, but I feel I’ve become more independent, adaptable, and willing to take risks through my experiences here. My independence has grown as I’ve encountered new life experiences in various areas. I’ve enhanced my adaptability by learning how to navigate new academic and social situations at PMonts. And I’ve become more of a risk-taker by pushing myself to step outside my comfort zone and try new things.
What will you miss the most after you graduate from PMonts?
What I will miss most after I graduate from PMonts are two main things. Firstly, I will miss the small, intimate community at PMonts, where I was able to build close relationships with all of my classmates. The sense of connection and support we had made school feel like a second home. I will also miss the teachers, who always pushed me to challenge myself and kept me learning at a pace that was right for me. Their constant encouragement and personalized approach to teaching made me feel seen and supported. I’ve learned so much from their guidance, not just academically, but also in how to approach life with a growth mindset. These are the things that made my time at PMonts truly special, and I will carry those memories and lessons with me as I move forward.
