The Lower Elementary program supports this new developmental phase filled with wonder, interest, and active enthusiasm. By sparking imagination and following a student’s passion, teachers create an environment that allows children to thrive academically as well as develop a sense of belonging in the classroom and school community.As an extension of our Montessori Great Lessons, the Lower Elementary students have been studying various periods throughout history.
The Montessori Clock of Eras represents Earth’s geological timeline from its formation to the present. The students are in the process of doing an in-depth exploration of each Era. They are working on a group research project focused on learning more about the reptiles of the Mesozoic Era.
On Monday, October 14th the students learned about Indigenous people, made totem poles, and read a Native American story.
