Upper Elementary students participated in Electronic Field Trip through the Liberty Science Center to learn about the basics of 3D design through the modeling software Tinkercad. The students were introduced to the method of constructing models using simplified constructive solid geometry. They practice creating designs made of primitive shapes that are either “solid” or “hole”. They learned how to combine solids and holes together, to create new shapes. The software is available to the students for the next two months to practice and design projects.
