As part of the Middle School curriculum, students explore different careers and what they entail, including the education required, typical work environment, responsibilities, and location of jobs. In addition to their research, every month the school hosts career speakers. The speaker is typically a current parent or friend of the school who shares information and insights about their profession with MS students. It’s a wonderful way for the speakers to inspire our students by talking about something they’re passionate about. Whatever your profession, the Middle School students would love to hear from you!
Over the past few years, the students have learned about molecular biology, graphic design, pharmaceutical research, book publishing, finance and risk management, computer science, veterinary medicine, chemistry, the world of horse racing, and more!
Here’s where we need your help. Would you consider signing up to be a speaker? This year, all sessions will be conducted virtually via Zoom. Each one-hour presentation should consist of some background information on you and your career, and then a short activity for the students. The students are interested to hear not only what your work is like, but what got you interested in this field, education requirements, work/life balance, etc. It’s a fun way to get to know some of our MS students!
