Maria Montessori called on all Secondary teachers to take students out into the world and to begin their year by building community.
Middle School students visited New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium, providing the students the opportunity to get to know each other and enjoy some team-building all while learning about the dynamics of barrier beaches.
The students surveyed the shoreline, analyzed wave patterns, investigated various types of sand, and learned about the creatures living in this ecosystem. This trip will also support their learning back at school with upcoming science and design units.
