Teaching diversity prepares students to be global citizens by exposing them to people from different cultures and social groups. Our main goal is to help all children to feel good about themselves, their families, and their communities, and also exposing children to differences, things that are unfamiliar, and experiences beyond their immediate lives.

Recently Mrs. Manley, Upper Elementary teacher, visited the Primary classrooms to read the book, “A Family is a Family is a Family”. The book talks about how everyone’s family is unique and special in its own way.

Mrs. Manley also did a project with the third year students and read the book “One Family”, a wonderful celebration of the many different configurations of families, and the ways they love each other. The children wrote about what made their family special and drew a picture of their family.
