Princeton Montessori Hosts Students from Beijing

By February 15, 2019Uncategorized
For two weeks, Princeton Montessori School hosted students from Beijing’s LUO Music school, run by Lucy Luo.  The students ranged in age from six to thirteen.  The purpose of the visit was a cultural exchange, so our students could learn about Chinese culture and share about their own.  During the exchange, the Chinese students presented on Chinese New Year, The Great Wall of China, Chinese Calligraphy & Handwork, Chinese ancient gods, and Chinese food.  We presented on the town of Princeton, American education, and the Montessori Method.
The exchange ended with a closing ceremony that included musical performances by both groups.  It was a wonderful opportunity to make friends across cultures and learn about each other.  The school first became acquainted with LUO Music School as we hosted February visits from the music director’s son, Hung Yu, for the past two years.  Mr. Mitnick then went to Beijing to teach a music workshop and brought back the idea of the exchange. Below is a slideshow of their visit.
