All parents are invited!
Back to School Night provides an opportunity for parents to experience the life of their child in the course of a school day, learn more about curriculum, procedures, and practices, and get to know the teaching staff and fellow parents better. It is an event for parents, which includes a short presentation in children’s classrooms, followed by a social gathering for parents and teachers.
Upper Elementary and Primary Reading Buddies Share a Special Bond
Each year the third year Upper Elementary students have the privilege of being Reading Buddies to the third year Primary students. They are assigned one or two Primary children to read with each week throughout the year. At the beginning of the year, the UE students received lessons on how to greet their younger friends, how to develop conversations using open-ended questions, and how to reinforce the skills of developing readers. The students of both ages enjoy developing these nurturing relationships with each other and they all look forward to their weekly meetings.
The Montessori Method of education, developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, is a child-centered educational approach based on scientific observations of children from birth to adulthood.
