Back to School
The new year has started and students are already hard at work! Children at all levels are happy to be back and excited about seeing their teachers and friends and discovering what’s new in their classroom environments.
Don’t miss Back to School Night, Friday, September 28 from 7:00-9:00
Back to School Night provides an opportunity for parents to learn more about curriculum, procedures, and practices, as well as get to know the teaching staff and fellow parents. The evening will conclude with a wine and cheese social gathering for parents and teachers.
“Human beings want to know their relationship to their environment. When children enter a new space, they often want to look at and touch everything around them. They enjoy knowing “where” they fit in – from their own cubby and coat hook to their chosen place on the circle. Classrooms and schools should be designed for this important tendency to unfold. This fits within the overall task of the teacher, which is to observe the needs of the child and make adjustments in the environment to better suit those needs.“ – Maria Montessori
The Montessori Method of education, developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, is a child-centered educational approach based on scientific observations of children from birth to adulthood.
