Each month, our Middle School students welcome a current parent or member of the community to come in and speak about his or her profession and share information and insights with the MS students. Most recently, Zoe Horneck, mom to Primary students Greta and Escher, visited the student to share about her profession as a real estate marketing executive and a project manager. The students enjoyed hearing about her education and varied life experiences and had the chance to practice their project management skills with a fun team building activity. They had rules to follow as they found the most efficient way to pass a beanbag in a set amount of time. From the activity, students practiced their creative problem-solving skills and learned the value of working as a team.

The Career Speaker program has proved a valuable experience for the students. Over the course of the year, we have had presentations from scientists, pharmacists, engineers – even a professional jockey, Navin Mangalee, father of Jay in the toddler program! The program exposes students to the many career paths out there, and also the education that one needs to pursue these different careers, and the quality of the work-life balance that they can expect. Another way that we prepare students for the real world!
