A Princeton Montessori School education is grounded in the values of inclusion, peace education, and an appreciation for the diversity of our planet and population. In our ongoing work to ensure a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community at Princeton Montessori School, this fall we’ve designed a forum to engage our community in important discussions around DEI topics. We continue to make progress on our Diversity and Inclusion goals, set in 2018, but we also know it’s important for our faculty and leadership team to listen to our community’s experience.
In support of this, Princeton Montessori School has engaged a local organization called ‘Beyond Diversity’ to facilitate an exercise they call a ‘Fishbowl Conversation’ with current and former families who have or had a Black child enrolled in our school. Our faculty members are also invited to listen and reflect. The goal of the session is to listen and gather information that will help the school to better address matters of race and racism.
As always, we welcome parent input, so please reach out to HOS, Michelle Morrison, should you have thoughts you’d like to share on the topic of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and please see our Diversity and Inclusion webpage for more information.
