Last Friday, Montessori teachers and administrators from across the state gathered at the Pines Manor in Edison, NJ, for the annual NJMAC conference themed, Montessori: Promoting Peace. This year’s workshop included over 500 attendees, 30 exhibitors and 14 workshop presenters, including three from our school. The keynote session, presented by Dr. Amanda W. Harrist, Ph.D. and Ms. Terry Varnell was titled Increasing Acceptance Among Schoolchildren: We are Peacemakers Making Peacemakers, and based on the documentary film, REJECT.

Cultivating Peace in You and Your Environment, Holding Peace In Your Heart.
PCTE Director, Gwen Shangle, presented on Character Development in A Modern World.
Andrea O’Brian, Princeton Montessori School Director of Operations and Communications, is Vice President of NJMAC and the Conference Chair who planned the event. Patricia Farmer and Gwen Shangle promoted our teacher training center, PCTE, to prospective students, and over 25 of our faculty attended the conference.
