Halloween Details:
To celebrate Halloween, Primary, Elementary, and Middle School students participate in the annual costume parade on Thursday, October 31 at 8:45 am (Toddler children do not participate in the parade). Parents are invited to stay for the parade after drop-off. The children will walk around the semi-circle with their class.
Infant/Toddler
The infant and toddler children will celebrate Halloween by doing some fall classroom work but will not wear costumes. Please do not send your child in costume or bring in a shared snack. We appreciate your cooperation.
Primary
Primary children should wear their costumes over their clothes so that they can easily be removed after the parade. The children will continue the many seasonal classroom activities, such as the life cycle of the pumpkin, parts of the pumpkin, skeleton, numerous practical life activities, Halloween artworks, and singing Halloween songs in the classroom.
A few considerations for costumes:
- Children should wear their costumes over their clothes so that they can easily be removed after the parade.
- We request that costumes and shoes be age-appropriate and not restrict a child’s movement.
- No full-face masks or play weapons of any sort, please!
Lower Elementary
Lower Elementary students may wear their costumes to school, no weapons or face masks, please. They should be sure to bring an extra change of clothes to change into after the parade. We will enjoy Halloween activities in the afternoon.
Upper Elementary
Upper Elementary is planning a day of Halloween fun! Students are asked to come dressed in their costumes, being sure to bring a change of clothing. We request that costumes are comfortable, and tasteful, and do not restrict the child’s movement. No play weapons of any kind or costume-related face masks should be brought to school. Continuing our yearly tradition, 4th and 5th-grade students will prepare and present plays. Students are welcome to bring their own ‘Halloween-themed’ treat to enjoy during the afternoon party.
Middle School
Middle School students are asked to come dressed in their costumes. Those students who would like to change into normal clothes can do so after the parade. Students will have fun activities in the morning and regular classes in the afternoon. No play weapons of any kind or costume-related face masks should be brought to school.
Drop Off
You can drop your child off as usual or feel free to park your car and walk your child into the building. (We ask you to park in either the lower lot or at the church lot adjacent to ours. We would like to keep the upper lot open for our Toddler families so they can walk their little ones into the building.) Upon arrival, students should proceed to their classroom.
