Lower Elementary students welcomed a special guest, Author Christopher Bridges! Mr. Bridges visited the class to read his book Corny: Being Me is Cool.

The book is about a boy named Nathaniel who overcomes social influence to become a leader at home and school. While other kids may think it’s CORNY to sit in the front of the class and always give their best effort, Nathaniel is confident in being the responsible young boy his family has raised him to be. How will he overcome the pressure to fit in and redefine what COOL looks like?

Chris Bridges is a friend of the Young family. He is a husband, father, HBCU graduate, and military veteran. His mission is to help young people build the bridge to their dreams and realize that anything is possible. After struggling to find diverse stories that promoted critical thinking, family, and character, Chris decided to be the change he wanted to see. He has written three children’s books: “Sweet Sneakers,” “Corny: Being Me Is Cool” and “Noah’s Prayers.” Find out more about the author and his books
