Additional Days Generate Creative Plays

By November 14, 2019Uncategorized

The Elementary children who attend additional calendar days enjoy performing plays to the delight of the Primary children. Recently they performed Monster Mash Boogie, in honor of Halloween, and The Mitten, by Jan Brett, inspired by the recent cold weather. The students worked together to design the props and set and appoint a narrator to read the story.

Imaginative play is an important part of the Montessori philosophy and having older students guide the younger children enables the teachers to stand aside and let the children create something of their own design.
