2025 NJMAC Conference
New Jersey Montessori Association Corporation
This year’s NJMAC Conference, From Prepared Environments to Empowered Citizens, was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at the Pines Manor in Edison. The annual event gathers more than 400 Montessori teachers from around the state and offers 15+ workshops to inspire learning and creativity in your classrooms. We are so proud of our own PMonts teachers who presented.
Olga Soto and Sandhya Bemby presented a workshop on Fostering Strong Parent-Teacher Connection During Conferences. The workshop explored the importance of fostering strong parent-teacher connections during conferences and how building these connections is essential for supporting a child’s development, strengthening trust, and creating a collaborative learning environment.
Sue Saad and Shomaila Zafar presented a workshop on Balancing Freedom and Limits: A Montessori Guide for Parents. In this workshop, Shomaila and Sue explored how the Montessori concepts of freedom and limits offer children the liberty to choose their activities within set limits, and provided guidance for teachers on how to help parents understand the dynamic relationship between freedom and discipline. The workshop emphasized how freedom, when paired with clear, consistent boundaries, nurtures the child’s capacity for self-discipline.
Our teachers did an outstanding job, and both presentations were well-received by the audience. Kudos to our PMonts team!

Princeton Center for Teacher Education (PCTE) had a booth at the conference. Lisa Meisenbacher and Huma Kazmi enjoyed connecting with past and prospective students!
