Celebrating Diwali

By November 15, 2023November 17th, 2023All Programs
Many classrooms had presentations about Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights, which is celebrated every autumn in the northern hemisphere. Diwali is a five-day celebration that includes good food, fireworks, colored sand, and special candles and lamps. Clay lamps, called Diyas, are lit to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness.
Toddler students enjoyed stories and presentations during circle times and decorating paper Diyas.
Primary children listened to books about Diwali and enjoyed Diya crafts.
