We spotlight each of our Eighth graders and ask them to reflect on their Middle School experiences and share some of the highlights and what they are most proud of.
Meet Isaac Chambers
What is one of your favorite highlights from the middle school program?
One of my favorite highlights from the middle school program was our unforgettable trip to Spain. It was an amazing opportunity to explore a new culture, try different foods, and practice speaking Spanish in real-life situations. Being immersed in a different environment helped me grow both personally and academically.
What made the experience even more special was the chance to bond with my classmates in a new setting. Living and traveling together brought us closer and strengthened our sense of community. We created so many fun and meaningful memories, whether it was during our group activities, time with host families, or just laughing together on the bus. It’s a trip I’ll always look back on with gratitude and joy.
What skill(s) did you develop thanks to your Montessori/IB education that are you most proud of?
Thanks to the Montessori and IB program, I developed strong skills in being both a risk-taker and a caring individual. I’m especially proud of my community project, where I supported underprivileged families through the Children’s Home Society. This experience pushed me to step outside of my comfort zone, taking initiative, communicating with organizations, and planning a meaningful project from start to finish.
It wasn’t always easy, but it taught me the importance of perseverance and empathy. I learned how even small actions can have a big impact when you put care and effort into what you do. This project really brought the IB learner profile to life, showing me how to use my strengths to help others and contribute to the world around me. It’s something I’ll carry with me beyond middle school.
What will you miss the most after you graduate from PMonts?
What I will miss most about PMonts is the close-knit community. The supportive environment, the friendships I’ve built, and the way everyone encourages one another to grow have had a lasting impact on me. I’ll also miss the hands-on, thoughtful learning experiences, especially creative units like the one we did on GMOs, which challenged me to think critically about real-world issues. PMonts has shaped not just how I learn, but how I engage with the world around me.
