Last week on Friday, April 10th, third and fourth grade students went on a field trip to Princeton and visited the Princeton Art Museum and the University.

At the museum, they saw artworks from 4 regions: European art, Asian art, American art, and Ancient art.
After that, they had lunch in a room of the University reserved for Princeton Montessori students where Mrs. Hopkins talked to them about her work in an art museum of New York.
At the University, they visited Mrs. Petry’s Molecular Biology lab, where they are “taking out the skeleton of cells” and studying them. Mrs. Petry also explained the work she does and showed interesting videos about it. Then, Mrs. Reuland gave them a tour of a famous flower garden, which reportedly has 1000 tulips. She also gave them a tour of the library, and they saw two of the tallest trees.
While third and fourth grade were on the field trip, the fifth graders spent a day in middle school. They did an escape room activity, listened to a SEL (Social Emotional Learning) class, and had a mock design class.
In Physical Science, fifth graders finished their electronic inventions essays and presented their magnetic inventions slideshows or talks. In History, fourth graders finished working on the timeline of humans, civilization and migration. In Biology, third graders finished their nature journals, and they went outside to look for five nature objects.
All the research report groups finished their presentations this week. This year’s research reports were on different parts of Europe: North, South, Central, East, and West.
In public speaking, Nolan presented on the progression of helmets’ safety in football and spoke about his uncle, who played in the NFL.
We also had one “life in a bag” celebration, which was Mila’s. Her birthday was on Friday the 10th.
Last but not least, we had a lovely parent presentation on Tuesday. Mr. Vahia came and told us about his experience in advertising and what it takes to be in this field.
