Creating, Exploring, and Cooking!

The 6th Graders are stepping up as the leaders of our community.

While our 7th and 8th graders represented us at MMUN in NYC, our 5th and 6th graders had their own adventures! They spent the day in Princeton, beginning with a Gargoyle Hunt. Three teams navigated the map and scoured the buildings’ facades for the Unseeing Reader, Chained Dragon, Football Runner, and other hidden, curious gargoyles.

They spent two hours at the new Princeton University Art Museum. The first hour was spent in the Creativity Lab, a dedicated space for visitors of all ages and abilities to explore hands-on art making. Students created sculptures before exploring the museum’s rich collection. The 6th Graders researched a piece before their visit, found the piece in the museum, and presented their findings to the 5th Graders, who were given discussion cards to prompt discussion and reflection.

On Friday morning, they had the opportunity to volunteer in Primary before cooking and hosting the 5th graders for lunch: a Mexican bowl of rice and beans with a range of sides, followed by a Vegan Berry Galette. They ended their day with Pilates and dance with Coach Winnie.
