The Middle School students received a visit from Mark Smith, the Director for the Crisis Ministry of Mercer County. This is the organization that the school collected donations for at the ice cream social.

Mr. Smith talked to the class about the mission of Crisis Ministry, their purpose and goals, and how they help people in our area.  He brought in an example of the amount of food someone would receive if they visited the center.  The students’ task was to come up with a menu for 3 days using the food items, making sure each meal was nutritionally balanced.  Liam, 7th grade, stated, “I loved learning about how they make sure everyone who needs help is accounted for.  They have it set up as a grocery store so people can have a choice of what they buy.”
