LE students visited Brookdale’s Ocean Institute in Highlands, NJ, to explore Sandy Hook and the surrounding national park. The students had the opportunity to use seining nets to collect a variety of coastal creatures from the bay, observe them, and then safely return them to their home. Students where able to make real-world connections to the Biology curriculum, while discovering the geological and environmental treasure that exists in their backyard.
