The Parent Association’s Community Service Committee is dedicated to helping Princeton Montessori School give back to the community.  We are pleased to announce the start of our 9th Annual Food Drive to benefit the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK).  TASK provides food for those who are hungry, and offers programs to encourage self-sufficiency and improve the quality of life of its patrons.  To learn more about this organization, visit http://www.trentonsoupkitchen.org/.
In addition to helping our less fortunate neighbors in Mercer County, this activity is designed to involve our students so that they may learn about the needs of others, and how their efforts can make a difference.  From Primary to Middle School, our children will participate in age-appropriate ways, from making cards with words of kindness, to decorating and assembling the food bags.
Our goal is to assemble 300+ dinner bags and deliver them to TASK in April.  We encourage all members of our school community to participate.  We had a successful Food Drive last year providing almost 400 dinners to families in need. Let’s do it again this year!
We have categorized the food items needed below.  You may purchase these items at a local area store and deliver them in the morning or afternoons at drop-off/pick-up. There will be bins outside to place your items.  For your convenience, we have also made it possible for you to purchase items from Amazon using the links below.  If you choose to order from Amazon, you may have your Amazon orders shipped directly to the school. Note that there may be less expensive items available on Amazon in different quantities so feel free to perform a search before using the suggested links.
The deadline to receive all items at the school is FridayApril 23.
