Last March, the 3rd year Primary students wrote letters to newly elected Vice President, Kamala Harris. The Primary program recently received a lovely message from Vice President Harris in response to their notes!
Below is the original post.
Dear Vice President Harris:
We are the teachers of the Primary program at Princeton Montessori School in Princeton, New Jersey. We would like to extend our sincerest congratulations to you and President Biden on your election victory and recent transition into the White House. We know that your ideals of peace, equality, and service align with those of the Montessori community, and we are proud to call you a leader of our great nation.
The students in this early childhood program have been excited and full of hope following your inauguration as the first Black woman to hold the esteemed office of Vice President of the United States. We have celebrated this great moment in our history by reading about your determination and strong will as a child in Kamala and Maya’s Big Idea and also by reading your empowering story, Superheroes are Everywhere.
Enclosed, please find 13 congratulatory letters that our kindergarteners, the eldest children in our multi-age classrooms, have written to you. They are eager, inspired, and hopeful, and they now know that indeed they have the means and the power to achieve their biggest dreams.
Respectfully,
Teachers of the Primary Program, Princeton Montessori School
