Elementary SummerQuest students visited Bowman’s Preserve for a hike to practice the skills they have acquired throughout the Outdoor Literacy & Exploration session: orienteering, observing natural habitats, hiking to the top of Bowman’s Hill, and using their compass. It was a beautiful day to explore!
Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve is an extraordinary diversity of plants native to Pennsylvania and the Delaware Valley region. The Preserve is a unique fieldtrip destination because of the focus on native plants and the diversity of habitats found on the 134-acre site. Trails wind through woodlands, meadows, and along a pond and Pidcock Creek, where the students enjoyed seasonal wildflowers and other native plants and wildlife.
